On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Penn State News published an article announcing the University had released a report about the 2022 Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey based on results and analysis of the data collected the previous year. The document below is our assessment of this report, the survey instrument, and Penn State’s comments as released in Penn State News. We outline several “next steps” Penn State should take in order to administer better surveys in the future and integrate students into university planning and decision-making moving forward. These next steps have been integral in recharging the Coalition Against Relationship and Sexual Violence (CARSV's) mission and enacting positive change to push the University forward toward a more prevention-based, materially impactful shift in campus culture.
